I know women get this a lot on social media but slightly bemused as a 49 year old man to get unrequested DMs on LinkedIn advising me to shave off my beard... 😂 "ugly", "makes you less handsome".

I have been slimming down both literally and in terms of possessions - after many bags to the charity shop, I am still finding clothes I have no memory of buying.

Not a laptop replacement but the s10+ tab feels like a good "out at a conference/event" day device. Pen is great as well. Good old Samsung economies make the price decent.

Not a dig at colleagues at Cardiff but good example of existing gaps in sector - what they seem as extreme is below the SSR I ever had to manage...

In my semi-regular bags I like - timbuk2 Deluxe is a light and decent bag for an work overnight or if you push it two nights. Good laptop storage and pockets.

Yesterday was very busy - BBP in day to talk to their business school and then @timeshighered.bsky.social awards. Listen to Lord Bragg talk with such clear love for Higher Education and knowledge was amazing.

Way back when I had a blog, I used to do kit reviews for people in Higher Education. If like me you are constantly doing two or three day trips. The AER Travel Pack is fantastic. Plenty of interior space, good "office" space. This is the small which is plenty for me.
