I am not yet using Blue Sky on a regular basis. But I have created this account so that if a bunch of friends all start using it, they can find me and add/follow me. Depending on how this works, you still might need to let me know via my facebook account.
Ah, spring! A Canadian's favorite season! The only time of year we don't have to rake, mow or shovel! :)

I fact checked the ballot thing, and, according to the Ottawa Citizen, this the work of a group protesting against "first past the post" balloting. ottawacitizen.com/news/56-cand...
Pierre Poilievre now one of 56 candidates on the ballot in Carleton riding
Dozens of candidates are on the ballot in the Ottawa riding as of April 7, most added over the weekend as part of an electoral protest.

This is what WE should be doing! Announce a reciprocal tariff of our own. Something that automatically MATCHES any tariff imposed by Trump.

Well, that saves us the ethical dilemma of deciding whether to deny the convicted felon entry to Canada. :)

It IS true, but victims of the 1% are deceived into blaming the government for their poverty, voting out the government that really CARED about Canadians. They want "someone new" to "fix things". It is our hope that Mark Carney will be seen as "someone new", so they won't vote for the 1% puppets.

If California became a new country, they would have to apply to be part of NATO, which requires approval from ALL current members. You can bet that the U.S. would veto any ex-state joining the organization.

Looks like at least three different strikes in that timelapse photo. :O

I think the closures are just being used by media as a familiar point of reference for readers. The actual reporting from Reuters is that closures are a part of a broader directive to have people stay out of indoor spaces. Also, could be a reaction to too many students families leaving the island.

No one specified a particular election, so I (and probably facebook) started with the most recent election, seeing how all the discussions this month are about its consequences. www.usnews.com/news/nationa...
I then checked the most recent Canadian Federal election. www.elections.ca/content.aspx...

The way media is reporting this you would think the quakes are happening ON the islands, but they're not. The epicenters are dozens of kilometers to the northeast. The quakes are just big enough to be felt on the island. University of Athens Seismic Map: www.geophysics.geol.uoa.gr/stations/map...

After seeing facebook 'fact check' this, I did my own fact-checking and the actual number is about 40%, not 66%. Still, that is enough to let the Cons grab power.... :(

Scientifically correct, but it doesn't instantly reverse a lifetime of lived experience of "Sex" meaning "Gender" on every form and document. Even now Ontario didn't change "Sex" to "Gender" on driver's licenses. They just added "Sex: X". news.ontario.ca/en/backgroun... Colloquial usage matters.

Technically correct. But because these two terms match up so often, society uses the scientific terms for our sexes - "male" and "female" - as synonyms for "man" and "woman". So, our trans man friend may still be biologically female, but will feel their gender identity attacked by use of that label.

I doubt that California, being 14% of the total U.S. economy would be allowed to take with it 14% of the U.S. military. So, it will never actually leave. But what they might do is organize a tax strike, so that money that would first go to Washington and then come BACK goes directly to disaster.

People always underestimate the healing power of a really good lasagna. Psychological well-being is important, and lasagna delivers. :)

With this kind of exposure, I can easily imagine you becoming Iceland's own Neil deGrasse Tyson. It's not enough to have experts in a field. We need people who can bridge the gap between experts and the public. You're doing great! Carry on!

Sadly, the truth, while entirely legal, is no less sinister, as the powers that want to "steal" elections cater to special interest groups with fanatical followers that will be highly motivated to get out and vote, with a larger turnout than the people who want calm, sensible running of our country.

Not quite sure what I am seeing here. It looks like a radiant heater? But that would mean that to turn it off you have to stick your hand right in the middle of the hottest part?
