It's older so perhaps not as contemporary but we have long enjoyed reading Walking with Jesus by Mary Clemens Meyer with our kids. It helps that some of the stories are about people in the community where they were born.

Exactly. The Beautitudes are a better focus for our faith but even if one centers on the Torah... Zechariah 7:8-15 warns what happens if a nation ignores the Torah's call to care for the widow, the orphan, the poor, and the foreigner.

Last year, Harold Rudy from Veterinarians Without Borders Canada came by the MCC office and told us about his good work on soil health in Preah Vihear province. I've been thinking those communities over the last 36 hours as the border conflict between Thailand & Cambodia escalates.

Rest in peace, Frannie. Last month I visited a chicken therapy program at a Mennonite disability org in Taiwan. Chickens are a bit typecast here in North America but really they are amazing social creatures and fun companions. I miss having chickens around in my daily life.

Fantastic! Great to see ADN lead a worship service and for them to promote the message that everyone feels pain and needs compassion.
