The US economy is now so dependent on a handful of stocks that hey could, if they chose to, stand up to Trump. If the economy sinks, he goes with it.
If they were to exercise that power, it will be proof that they are too big and need breaking up.

“Plainly now lost his mind”, has his brain been hibernating since 2016, because it was pretty damn obvious then that Trump at a minimum has one of the worst cases of narcissistic personality disorder ever seen.

He’s made so many bad things more socially acceptable. The racist can be more racist, the narcissists can embrace their narcissism, the hateful are freer to hate, those who get off on punching down see him punching down every day.

I think like any adaptation, it will draw a lot of criticism from a certain number of people as it’s living up to a part they made with their imagination in the late 90’s.
