And one of the main reasons so many Civil Rights gains were made during the 60s-70s is because the US was in competition with the Society Union over whether capitalism was better than socialism and legal segregation was bad press.
It's funny because we're supposed to operate from the perspective that the country bends toward progress, but really the CRM was a deviation.

What’s the difference between a gov controlling an algorithm, silently eliminating reach for things it doesn’t like, vs the same gov using its power, to demand that the platform remove the things it doesn’t like.?
