In 2015 a student was STARVING himself in a hunger strike right outside their window & I hear leadership look out & say, "These kids have no idea how much this grass is going to cost to fix." Athletics & Advancement, that's who truly steer the ships. Not students, not academia, & not politicians.

After working w/in the "advancement" dpt at a state university, let me tell you, they're NOT beholden to anything federal. No. The old, rich, conservative donors have them at THEIR mercy, though. They will shape their entire campus & culture -& then the leadership- around THEIR whims for that money.
