I teach American politics, which has been a very difficult job for the last nine years. Social media sarcasm makes it more tolerable.
Setting aside the "ugly" comment for a moment, is there a single claim in that statement that is true? I could not find one.

To be fair, the sheer effort it took to not burst out laughing at him calling Trump "the president of solutions" must have been immense. It's tough to come up with a follow up question when one has to try so hard not to laugh at something so obviously moronic as that.

I've heard they are increasing 100%, but also that they are dropping by 50%. I think both are true.

I agree. Episode 1 was not good, it was merely less bad than all the numbered ones released since it came out. Rogue One was better. (I still haven't watched Solo...)

It's about behind-the-scenes efforts to seize power in the Republic and destroy the Jedi through political manipulation.
Or, if you mean in terms of the moral of the story, it's about how ambition and complacency can bring down democracy.

Surely you are not suggesting that Episodes 2 and 3 did NOT have terrible scripts and wooden performances, right? That whole trilogy (and the sequel trilogy) suffers from those problems. I just find that Phantom Menace suffers a little less. It has the least-bad script and acting of the three.

If the political backstory had been better developed, and if they had seriously scaled back Jar Jar Binks, it could have been a good film. With a better written script too, it could have been great. But it's still better than most of them.

Phantom Menace is the best of the prequel trilogy, and better than episodes 7-9, and I will die on this hill. Liam Neeson turns in the best acting performance across all the movies, despite a mediocre script. The podracing scene and Darth Maul fights are among the best action scenes in the series.
