Stupid cat is the same with my wife. I feed, take for boosters and occasionally deworm but she gets the cuddles. No concept of justice, your pets.

Annoying isn’t it? I’ve tried adding hashtags etc but no difference. Sigh…Good to learn about WPF btw.

They’re like airbags: Not important until suddenly very important.

Every accusation is a confession.

I love Bluesky but there’s something very Bluesky about exactly this phenomenon. I put up demands for political action on global injustices and get zero traction. I criticises movie franchise or something and it’s like I’ve unleashed hell.

4 4 Fewer declared Reform voters have immigration as top concern than you might think. It’s a response to decades of neglected communities, underfunded public services and a loss of of stake in democracy. We fight with investment, tax fairness and truth, not craven imitation of their worst rhetoric.

3 Anxiety about immigration is largely created by precisely the language the Home Secretary and others use. Tommy Robinson’s comment about the Overton window makes the point surprisingly well. /

Couple of things:

1 It’s not just OK but right to disagree with voters if you disagree with them; it’s called integrity.
2 Polanski and Farage are clearly nowhere near equivalent. To see every non centrist as an extremist is the key distortion of centrism. /1

If this man couldn’t use the phrase ‘I don’t know’ he’d have nothing to say. Never in the field of political history has one man known so little about so much.

Oh wow, there’s suddenly a lot of dust in my eye…

I’m rumbled. It’s back on the flying saucer for me!

In other words Polanski and Mamdani are the future because they do what’s right not what’s expedient.

“Voters are turning to left-wing and green parties instead,” she said. That might be music to Zack Polanski’s ears, the recently installed leader of the Green party in England and Wales, who last month came out to declare “migration is Britain’s superpower.”

In today’s municipal elections, the Social Democrats appear likely to lose the Copenhagen mayoralty for the first time ever, partly because of discontent with Frederiksen’s immigration policies. “Copenhagen is a super cosmopolitan city that doesn’t reflect her views when it comes to immigration.”
November 19, 2025 at 8:13 AM
Given that, it doesn’t look as if the Social Democrats’ shift to the right has ‘solved’ immigration as a political issue for them. If anything, there are concerns that the party will move further right again.”
November 19, 2025 at 8:12 AM
“But now the far right is climbing in popularity again, making even more extreme demands, including so-called ‘remigration’ – the mass deportation of people with immigrant backgrounds living in Denmark.
November 19, 2025 at 8:12 AM
“The Social Democrats retained progressive positions on many issues, but became right-wing on immigration. That helped them take votes from the far right, and support for the Danish People’s Party fell away sharply.” /3
November 19, 2025 at 8:11 AM
Even the experience from the Danish model which is their inspiration doesn’t support them. /2

Quite apart from the moral implications of adopting an immoral position to chase votes, it won’t work, on the evidence. The Tories virtually destroyed themselves and Labour have made themselves deeply unpopular without making any dent in Reform’s numbers. /1

The answer to the question in the article, ‘why not watch Labyrinth,’ is because Bowie couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag.
