Interesting how Lalah’s visions of the alternate timelines end differently from her fate in the original 0079 series. Amuro kills Char, while originally she sacrifices herself to save both of them.

Sometimes it’s hard to fathom why Lalah attached herself to Char so hard when she knew the kind of person he was, but this glimpse into a world before he came makes it pretty clear how huge an impact he had on her life. He gave her what she craved the most: both love and freedom.

The story of Lalah’s life in this timeline is so sad. She’s treated like an object to satisfy men’s desires, and the awareness that she had a real love on the “other side” makes the contrast with her current reality hit even harder.
