Noooo! Which traps are you using? I actually found the cheap vicious ones to be the best. Also, I set them before I went to bed. I’ve baited them with cheese and with cream cheese. Peanut butter is out for you I guess.

Ha ha ha! My bad, my faulty assumption! So few women in senior positions. But I stand my my claim: she is being a jerk, threw an unnecessary tantrum, and shouldn’t make you feel guilty about taking time off. Time off helps recharge and should be encouraged.

That man is a jerk. If he threw a tantrum over a minor bit scheduling, then perhaps he needs a nappy when he sorts his diary. You’re entitled to time off whether you are brilliant or shit. Chances are, you are brilliant. Enjoy your time off. I’m sorry he tried to make you feel like shit about it.

A lot of this resonates for grief, as it is for writing. In particular the idea that “the search”—be it for the word or for actions or meaning—really “gets no easier.” But as you note, nobody else is going to “write your novel” or live your life for you. This has been helpful with grief writing.
