anonymous message: one of my closest friends moved away for school and now our friendship feels kinda different. any advice on what i should do? answer: i'm afraid it's inevitable, friendships change and evolve depending on lots of factors — and moving away influences them a lot. it's not necessarily a bad thing. you can text/call them more often, and maybe try to meet up during the weekend/whenever you're both free. i know it's not easy, and there's always the possibility of drifting apart, but i think that if your bond is solid and you both want to keep being friends, then no amount of distance can actually separate you. anonymous message: how do you feel about a friend who expects you to always take their side answer: that's not exactly how friendship works, not for me, at least. i'd rather have an honest friend who tells me the truth and how they actually feel about something, instead of just blindly taking my side — especially when it won't do me any good in the long run. that's what i usually do, though i try to measure my words and avoid being brutal, if possible.
