This is a classic playbook by government homophobes. Label queer and trans people as inherently obscene then you can penalize them for existing by saying they’re “lewd” in public or at work.

Honestly i prefer the way this studio interpreted the Smurf Village even though the Hanna Barbera version is much closer to the comics
