We get accused of virtue signaling when we express our joy, or demonstrate kindness, by those who don't want to see people they don't like happy.

I finished reading Babel by R.F. Kuang. By chance, the book I finished before this one was A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine.

The two books are completely different but in a way so so similar. Both are about empire, language, and survival through assimilation.

Fascinating!

We no longer actively construct our lives. We let the course of time shape it as it wills. That little chance we have to take control, we ask the Internet to do it for us.

We try to fit ourselves into existing construction instead of creating one of our own.

Don't be afraid to take notes and scribble or underline in your books. Leave some messages for posterity :)

The central finding of NDM (Naturalistic Decision Making) is that in the real world, experience does not teach people to analyze better; it teaches them to analyze less by recognizing patterns that dictate immediate action.

Time to make the push and finish this one. I've been reading it for a while. Between life and it not being such an easy read, it feels like I started reading it ages ago. Babel or The Necessity of Violence
