It's all psycological. All taken into account to give you the good chemicals when you pick "right" so you keep playing.

The ratio your example gave is off. It's more "The first season is mediocre but the 2nd-6th are great" which is a position many well regarded TV shows are in.

If it helps, your choice does not matter at all. The moment you picked the Wonder Pick you locked in the card you'll get. You can test this by clicking a Wonder Pick and closing the app. When you reopen you will already have whatever card you would have picked.
