2a. Sign up for virtual care if it is covered by your health insurance. Take advantage of having a quick call/check in if it eases your anxiety

2. Do not Google your symptoms. This one I really struggled with. For the longest I would diagnose myself because I didn’t want to be a hypochondriac at the doctor’s office. I’ve learned over the years, it really isn’t that big of a deal to go see a doctor and hear them tell you everything is fine.

1a They handle “worst case scenarios” differently with me. They start with “this won’t kill you” and this is what we can do if that’s the case. Since my anxiety manifests itself in thinking I will die in 3 weeks.

1a. Since I started telling them, they’re able to change how I see test results (they don’t post them until I speak to a doctor and they don’t leave voice messages). They also reassure me but at the same time explain red flags that need urgent medical attn.
