"Who starts a conversation like that? Anyway hi."

Giving a wave.

"Don't thank me yet. We've still got to get out of here."

She met her gaze, a small smile forming on her own face.

"I need your help. I can't do this alone, and we both know you alone can't get out of here, not with your health issues."

She steps closer, bringing a hand up to gently rest on Samarie's shoulder.

"No, that doesn't mean we're girlfriends. It just means that we're going to be companions for a lot longer than just this festival."

Her heart went out to Samarie. She could feel, for once, that Samarie was speaking from the heart, not trying to appeal to Marina.

"Then it's settled. You're coming with me after we get out of this hellhole. We'll find a flower garden so you can see actual flowers."

She accepts the vial from Samarie, looking down at it.

"Depends on the God I guess. Gro-goroth might not care if we went insane or not, probably would prefer it for the destruction of it all."

She opens her eyes back up, looking at Samarie.

"And I don't think you're saying that to me for selfish reasons either. You're...you know, you're not that bad. If I had friends like you when I was younger, maybe things would have turned out different?"

"..."

She closes her eyes. That's a good point. They were both technically free from the church now. This would be a great opportunity to just start over from scratch. Leave the past behind.

"I hate that you're making sense. You're right, I could do that."

"I see your point and raise you the counterpoint that the gods are fickle."

She's right though, it's just an excuse to not get drunk around Samarie. One of them has to stay sober to watch out for danger.
