Released on this day 32 years ago another in Van Morrison’s under appreciated great 80’s and 90’s output, this album has two great duets with John Lee Hooker. Listen now! #nowplaying 🎧 @vanmorrison.bsky.social

I have known Darrell Scott is one of our best living singer-songwriters, but hadn’t really found the studio album that best made this case. Listening to this for the first time here’s the Rosetta Stone. So good! #nowplaying 🎧

#releasedonthisday two great albums by the late Mark Lanegan. The acoustic “Field Songs” in 2001 and the electronic “Straight Songs of Sorrow” in 2020, the last album he released. Nothing sunny, but always delivered straight with that growling baritone. I miss Mark Lanegan.

Missed the 30TH ANNIVERSARY of this album about a month back. It’s incredible what this little post-Uncle Tupelo band has created in those 30 years. #nowplaying 🎧

Got to meet Ignatius J. Reilly today in New Orleans. Reflected on a modern day “confederacy of dunces”.

#releasedonthisday 33 years ago my favorite Beasties album of them all, but like Michael Bolton I celebrate their entire catalog. #nowplaying 🎧

#releasedonthisday 31 years ago, Jackopierce’s “Bringing on the Weather” is an album light years above the rest of their decent catalog of folksy singer-songwriter. The production from T Bone Burnett creates an album that brings real depth and creativity to a good set of songs. #nowplaying 🎧

#releasedonthisday 7 years ago an album that might have seen an artist take the most quantum leap from one album to the next (and her earlier albums were good) #nowplaying 🎧

#releasedonthisday six years ago. While Steve Earle is one of our great American songwriters the string of tribute albums he’s done have been great too. #nowplaying 🎧

Reading @brianklaas.bsky.social book “Fluke” right now and this one simple sentence is strangely comforting.

#Releasedonthisday 10 years ago Courtney Barnett’s first full length “sometimes I sit and think, and sometimes I just sit”. This album is just great and has been followed by nothing but more greatness. Would love to have a new album soon? 🎧

This was so good, continuing the trend of basketball always providing the best sports documentaries. Loved Wemby at the end. “Everyone better be scared.” Get healthy and prove it right.
