This summer, I collected color data from Silene acaulis (cushion pink) flowers across populations in AK using photography and a color standard. Last year, I did the same in CO and northern NM. The Canadian Rockies are up next summer thanks to funding from @alpinegardensoc.bsky.social Hendry Grant!🌸

I got to spend several weeks this summer traveling through Alaska surveying Silene acaulis populations for sex ratio and recording the sex of plants in a longterm demography study. It was an incredible adventure in the coolest places!!🏔️🌸

#Evol2025 was such an amazing experience! I presented my work on sexual differentiation in Silene acaulis, watched my science heroes present their work, and connected with others working on similar questions. I feel fortunate to be surrounded by an amazing group of supportive and brilliant people!
