Why are so many regular New Yorkers distrusting of local government? This bridge’s sidewalk is a great example. It was closed for the better part of a decade, finally reopened last year, and now a few months later it’s completely closed again - all with no signage to even explain why

NYC Open Streets could learn something from Milwaukee, where true closures allow for a lot more creativity on the streets. Games, heaters, planters, and better street furniture make for a much more enjoyable public space
