I get it on *some* level. That doesn’t excuse it, it just makes it more comprehensible. I don’t know all who stood up (in addition to all Cons), but I imagine they were affirming opposition to political violence. Had they not stood up, the Poilievre fascists would’ve immediately weaponized it.

Also, the constant refrain by the left of calling Carney “a banker”, reveals ignorance about the role of central banks. Carney’s role was a high level critical civil service position. Central banks are institutions that manages the monetary policy of a country. It requires deep knowledge and skill.

@globalnews.ca put out this same misrepresentation (amplified across Apple News) of what was said & Carney’s clear sentiments of standing firmly with 🇺🇦(something Trump isn’t doing). I guess @mark-carney.bsky.social has to learn that all nuance will be exploited for misrepresentation in #cdnmedia.
