Everything seems to have done okay, though a better staking system for the indeterminates is something I'd like to chase at some point.

Also, I think I need to plant the determinate plants farther from each other next time. They shade each other a bit too much.

Calgary has also always been more of a big box store sorta city, which I am still grappling with. I dunno if there is a way around this given how corporate Calgary can be.

I remember walking in to venues like these in Toronto, dead quiet, knowing their busy times made up well for their slow times. I don't know enough about the Calgary scene anymore to comment.

As someone who generally is avoidant of crowds the 'on the ground ' component hits me a bit less, but I recognize the fact there is an underlying lower overall population seeking the things that pique my interest. Does this make sense?

Hoofed it across the street to Raindog and am stretching Dieu dunCiel Péché Mortel over a beet borscht conserva, pork terrine, and... Maybe something else.

I missed this brew.

I think I just need to get over the comparison.

After all, comparison is the thief of joy.

I am chilling out now at Burn Block and enjoying their brews. In many ways it reminds me of old haunts but it is its own thing.

But pending comparisons to my time in Toronto, I miss The Only Cafe and Bar Hop deeply.

Not sure if what they did is doable with the current population density here.

I wish they could have worked in the Doctor's daughter in some other way. Instead there was so much wasted potential here. Rather than giving the current cast more of a chance to explore, they got cut off at the knees. And the end... the end is just jumping the shark and reeks of desperation.
