A photograph of a male Hairy-footed Flower bee hanging over the edge of a purple bloom of Erysimum 'Bowles Mauve', a perennial wallflower which is flowering now. He is in side profile facing left as viewed with his long tongue (proboscis) deep inside the flower to collect nectar. He is rusty-brown in colour and has long hairs on his middle legs and feet. The background is mainly in shades of green with blurred pops of pinky purple colour from the other flower spikes behind him.
