I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again.

This is a bizarre false binary. Some trans ppl take hormones but their bodies still make them. And if your paper says the wrong gender and you're oppressed for it, you might be refused needed medical care and die! These should be trans solidarity issues jfc
There's a big difference between "This piece of paper says the wrong thing and I'm discriminated against because of it" and "My bones are disintegrating and I'm constantly suicidal because they took my hormones away so I might die".
