It's important to note that CTU leadership election rules are constitutionally outlined and can be reformed with popular support.

The real question is, as it is in any form of politics, will the majority who did not participate mobilize and organize for said reform? I doubt it.

Both of these outcomes are a far cry from the share of votes each caucus claimed from votes cast: 64% for CORE and 36% for REAL.

It also speaks to members' oft-cited concerns with the short 1-2 hour voting window before school being akin to voter suppression.

It is unclear how many of these members were ineligible to vote because they joined after April 1, 2025.

However, these election results suggest 14,326 members did not cast a ballot, and only 33.2% of the total membership cast a ballot for CORE. Only 18.3% voted for REAL.
