Sorry but no they didn't. I voted for Kamala but every talking point at every rally was "raise household tax by X amt" and never explained that was directly because of tariffs and that american companies and consumers pay the tariff. The tariff explanation should have been the bullet point.

Yeah kinda. Because one side is saying tariffs are great and other countries pay them. Our side didn't explain the connection of "Trump will raise avg household taxes by $4000" to the definition of a tariff.

This is my exact point about those insisting on using these terms that everyone has heard of these words. No, not everyone understands the meaning at all and once they see and hear terms they don't understand they feel like they are being talked down to.

The avg voter doesn't care about the difference! The ppl posting here know the meanings and the differences but the avg voter is not going to look up these terms because they dont care beyond the bullet points of simple explanations. Whyyyyyy is that so hard to understand??

No. They don't. And your inability to see even one term on that posted list that could be confusing to other people is the problem democrats have. I will fully admit that I see several I agree are the terms to use. But sadly about half are actually just confusing as hell.

These terms hide the true meaning though. That's the point. They make it seem like something completely different or confusing. The avg person just cares about "people can't afford food or worried about grocery bill".

It's not that they are offensive, it is that they are unnecessary. Regardless of what you would prefer the avg voter just doesn't care to get into the nuance of the various meanings of many of these terms.

Not all of these terms exist to bring clarity at all. They exist because previous terms for these things offended some people so we had to come up with something non-offensive but full of ambiguity and pretentiousness in order to not offend those few.

I am not denying the existing definitions at all. I'm arguing that the avg voter doesn't care about the various definitions listed here. Keeping things simple to describe the problem is a good thing. It is understandable for everyone and makes it more likely to get people to care about it.

He isn't saying the issue isn't important. He's arguing the terms being used sound pompous and can off-putting. In this case the term "food insecurity" would be better to just say "many people can't afford enough food and are hungry". Just say what we mean. That's it.

I had a loan balance suddenly appear that I've never seen and supposedly sent to a school I didn't attend when the loan was supposedly dispersed. This is a school I did attend 13 years later but never took out a loan for.

I love how the next sentence out of her mouth is "I want to ask you about...". Just moves on to the next thing. What? Why is there never any pushback to this? There was a police report and a paid settlement with and NDA. These were not anonymous tips. Just wtf?!!

I feel like there's a movie scene somewhere in existence of a man holding a drink, drunkenly yelling all of this out to someone off screen in a sarcastically happy yet defeated tone, to then fall into a slump on a couch and stare at the floor in the realization of what they had done.
