My work is intended as an object companion for your life. The talismans we choose have power. I sink my focus and dedication into my work. I do this so that, like a battery, my energy, the power I’ve accumulated as an artist over the last 25 years, is released back into your life as you wear it.

It’s good to be careful when you’re taking risks. Stainless welds at 2700 degrees but if you handle it right you don’t burn your fingers. And by you I mean me.

A little bit about the clasps I make for my chains :)

I believe that if you’re doing art, it’s best to come up with your own ideas and pursue the ones that are very hard and confusing at first. This is how I’ve survived as a working artist, staying one step ahead of the world by making myself uncomfortable and feeling alone. Until…🌞

I invented this version of Byzantine when I was ten years old. Still hitsssss

I electrochemically anodize my titanium. This means submerging it in a chemical bath while running current through the material. In titanium, this creates a translucent oxide layer which absorbs different parts of the light spectrum depending on how thick it is. In this case, all but green 🧙‍♂️

Look what I made! This thing has tens of thousands of stainless steel links. Each one I formed, cut, and assembled using a European 4 in 1 pattern that dates back to 3rd century BC. Likely the celts did it before then, but ancient geopolitical revisionist history aside, magic looks invisible! 🧙‍♂️

After sixteen years of wear, these stainless steel links are showing flattening from rubbing on each other. This one is welded to my wrist, where it has been since 2009. I love the way the links look as they try to work through each other. Time is a real beast to matter.

When I say welded links, this is what I mean.

Best Chainmaille on earth much love to all 🖤🧙‍♂️

I made this stunner from a modern pattern named Japanese Helms Weave. It’s stainless steel and anodized titanium for the blue. Lots of tricky welding work here, especially titanium that’s pre-anodized with a pulsed machine that’s argon shielded. Technical mumbo jumbo aside, easy and pretty stuff :)

My bracelet’s I wear 24/7 and my wrist surgery scar that I take off to shower.

Byzantine is the pattern everyone knows. It dates back to the 5th century AD. Likely it is older than that. There are rumors that this pattern even predates bronze. These are rumors I am both unsure of and currently spreading. Lovely pattern for a necklace either way.

I’ve been making Chainmaille since I was nine year old.

This one is stainless steel, big thick 16 gauge in a Full Persian pattern. All welded links and a handmade locking hook clasp. Really good 😇

To make this necklace I used every wire gauge from 22 to 16. With each wire size I used two different link diameters to allow the chain to repeatedly swell in size. I formed, cut, and even welded closed, each link myself for a smooth and durable heirloom quality finish.
