PLEASE hold the line, do not vote for a CR or stopgap measure to reopen govt. The Republicans need to own the pain they have inflicted and the Dems need to protect the vulnerable and our fragile democracy. Thank you for your leadership for all of us in NM.

Yes. Anthropologists have documented highly egalitarian societies, with abundant nutritious food and lower workloads among forager peoples. Not saying I'd swap hot showers for that, but idea that foragers wander aimlessly in search of food not true.

Not only are their salaries low, by keeping them at 27 hours/wk or less, employers don't have to pay benefits, so no health insurance, no retirement. Taxpayers subsidize Walmart & the fast food industry thru SNAP, insurance, so corporations can make more profit.

Many large corps refuse to schedule people for more than 28 hrs/week to avoid having to pay benefits, so these folks also typically have no insurance. Taxpayers subsidize the operational costs of fast food industry, Walmart, and many other huge co.
