Pet loss is a surprisingly brutal kind of grief. Sending you and yours strength and condolences. Hope you can continue to take care of yourself in this difficult time.

Doesn’t Gerald Horne make that argument as well in Counterrevolution of 1776?

At least Dallas fans can finally enjoy a superstar who is in shape and doesn’t strain a calf or something early in the sea- wait, never mind.

Do they not also realize that Republicans will run those same ads no matter what?

Can’t wait for his 4D-chess excuse that despite being an ostensible leader of the party, withholding his endorsement in fact helped Zohran!

This has been by far the most disturbing thing to me about the Trump phenomenon - just how many people have been waiting to behave like this. At the ready for permission to terrorize people and communities. There has to be accountability not just for Trump but for these “goons” as you say.

Has there been a culture of strong accountability in the US military prior to this? No, in fact, forgiving war crimes as “earnest mistakes,” has been happening for a long time.

I mean, that’s possible. It’s always weird to compare eras. But Jokic is still as good of a post player and a superior playmaker and passer. I think it’s also worth mentioning that Olajuwon loves Jokic and singled him out among current stars as “The One”:

I hear you. I’m not saying Jokic is better, but he can do way more offensively than Olajuwon. Jokic shot 45% from 3 last season. He also has more MVPs, but I think needs one more title to solidify his case. Embiid…hasn’t been out of the second round, in the EAST! And KAT is KAT. Jokic is different.

But I also know there’s a lot I don’t understand about it. I simply don’t care for it, and fear that its downsides far far outweigh its positives.

Okay sure. I’m still confused as to why anyone would want to produce music with matrix multiplication. Who is asking for this? To me it’s anti-art and it is not being developed to change how we view language. It’s being made to displace workers and upload billionaires’ brains to the cloud.

It’s an ethical and environmental trash fire if you ask me, and will cause more ruin than good. But yes, certainly “interesting” to have a chatbot validate one’s every thought, or a creepy image generator just a click away.

But surely you can understand that the law has failed to hold leaders accountable going back to Iran-Contra. I wouldn’t say the law “doesn’t matter,” but I would say the law in this country (also internationally) has been managed to allow leaders to take illegal actions with impunity.
