Muted that singing contest. Glad some of you love it but it’s not for me.

I only just realised the song Mon Montha raves to in Andor S2 is the song playing in the brothel in the first ep of S1. Yes I started a rewatch.

I might need to start a complete Andor rewatch to fill the Andor shaped hole in my life.

I’d love to know what the physical locations for much of Corusant on Andor were. Bits look like Canary Wharf but others… no idea.

Weird thing but I just noticed the Thunderbolts* credits are listed alphabetically by first name - huh? I don’t mean the cast but the long list of VFX etc.

Thunderbolts* is good fun. A very solid, mid-tier MCU film that'll be a good rewatch. My only complaint would be the FX in one of the fight scenes, and the continued use of Bucky for comedy - just let him be the moody ex-assassin please. Also his hair is bad, bring back full Winter Soldier hair.

Okay The Well is great Doctor Who! Just what I wanted. More please.

You know what I would have loved, in the lead up to Thunderbolts*? A cinema screening of Black Widow. The only MCU I didn’t see on the big screen thanks to Covid.

I’m obsessed with the office set in The Studio. Stunning.

Rereading Rama II for the first time in about 30 years. It’s a lot pulpier than I remembered.

Tried to watch the third season of Wheel of Time and that recap was the most confusing word-salad I've seen in ages. I watched the first two seasons (didn't remember a great deal TBH) and it kinda made me give up. The writing assumed a great deal of knowledge. For fans only I guess.

I love my Doctor Who blu rays. But I do wish they’d stop wasting time & money shooting amateur dramatics for the trailers and docos and just got more blu rays out.

Rewatching Ant-Man & the Wasp (the best Ant-Man film) and you can see what was missing from Quantumania. The whole Honey I Shrunk the Kids fun element. It only works when we’re seeing familiar things at giant size etc.

So it's a ****ing Transformers movie? Just a teaser so I still have hope, but I still think bringing it into "the real world" kinda misses the fun of Tron for me. Like when Jurassic Park let the dinosaurs out of the park... you lose the imagination because you're faced with reality.
The first trailer for Tron: Ares has dropped 👀

The film will be released in theaters on October 10.

On the other side, I saw Black Bag last night and loved it - very stylish thriller. For the first time in ages I wanted a movie to be LONGER!

Woke up early so spent the morning researching my UK pension and how much I need to top it up to max it out. With the AUS/UK exchange rate pretty dismal right now that wasn't fun.

Finally caught up with Severance. Glad the plot got back on track. All the intriguing side episodes were feeling a bit slow.

Started a rewatch

I’ve somehow fallen out of the habit of reading monthly comics. I struggle to remember storylines from issue to issue. Is that dementia, or am I just trying to read too many different books at once. May go back to binging them in trade form.
February 21, 2025 at 3:28 AM
Started. Reread of Grant Morrison’s New X-Men. Damn it’s good. After struggling with some recent X titles it’s nice to read a book that just works so well.
February 19, 2025 at 6:02 AM
I’m rewatching Air Force One like it’s a prequel to Cap America: Brave New World.
February 18, 2025 at 4:33 AM
So Severance timeline, ep 5 is in “Quarter 882”. Does that mean Lumon MDR has existed for over 220 years?
February 17, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Watched Brave New World again (IMAX 3D this time). It holds together really well but it starts to lose focus after they go to Camp Echo One. The mystery thriller vibe gets lost. Spoiling Red Hulk in the marketing snookered the film.
February 17, 2025 at 6:38 AM
On reflection I’m a bit more up on CA:BNW. It wasn’t the political thriller vibe we were sold (the seeds of that are there and I wonder if that was the original film before reshoots). It just felt like it was missing a third act.

Why does every episode of Industry feel like I’ve missed an episode in between? And everything seems to happen off camera and we just see the aftermath.
