The first time I saw this I assumed it was The Onion. But no. This is the alternate reality we live in where a felon was elected President and a 22 year old who was mowing lawns a year ago is in charge of fighting terrorism.

The Minority Leader of the US Senate posted a popcorn emoji. More appeasement politics without any action. On top of their inaction, party leadership are throttling younger Dems who have some fight in them -- we are not in a good place. There is hope at the local and state levels at least ~

I know :-( I don't know anything that CAN be done at this point. We are kind of helpless. The Supreme Court decided Presidents are not subject to criminal laws for their actions, Congress doesn't have the spine to stop him, and he has surrounded himself with sycophants who will not stand up to him.

All good reasons! But good reasons and mountains of evidence are not enough. :-( Impeachment is still a political operation, and there facts do not matter, only polling and power.

I would LOVE to see that! But this time around the party members fear him more than ever -- like a mob boss. They have to show fealty or face the MAGA hordes, even if that means the whole party going down.

There will never be a good enough reason to impeach the current President for the Republican members of Congress. Those that did in 2021 lost their seats or did not run again, even McConnell went from Leader to persona non grata, and it takes 67 Senators to remove the President from office.

I think it is hilarious that you can simply say "hilarious distractions like this" and everybody knows EXACTLY what you mean 😆

There is no mechanism to annul the 2024 election results. None. Once a President is sworn into office, the ONLY way to remove him is Impeachment (over 50% in the House, over 50% in the Senate) or removal by the President's Cabinet members (who he selected based on loyalty). Sorry.

they are probably getting their highest engagement ratings on social media of the year ;-) biggest train wreck break up of ANY reality TV show ever ;-)

Hey FT -- if you are going to post on social media, make sure at least some of the story is accessible and not just hitting your paywall

Come to Phoenix! Arizona that is. But not between the middle of June through the middle of October.

and just like that, the indexes are back down again ~ huge, volatile swings this morning ~

hitting 50,000 by the end of his term isn't all that great a feat -- the Dow hit 45,000 in February.

BAD. Regardless of whether it's a one payment or many, tariffs are a crappy tool to use, and that's assuming there is something bad about a trade imbalance. The US will buy more diamonds from a 3rd world African country than that country buys US goods, but that doesn't mean something is wrong

I used to be part of the "you suck, go to hell" crowd but now I'm part of the "he actually seems to be working to redeem himself" crowd ~
April 6, 2025 at 9:11 PM
This one will be like nothing we have seen before, more bigly done than anyone thought was possible ~
April 4, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Actually, the US Supreme Court gave the President the ability to break the law without consequences. I don't agree with their decision, but for now, it's the law of the land :-(

Please change out of your Minnesota Nice clothes and put on your Get Sh*t Done clothes. We already know the answers. Stop treating what is happening like it's a mundane policy disagreement!

If Citizens United had been decided differently there would have been a measure to guard against this :-(
March 20, 2025 at 11:03 PM
my biggest takeaway from that video, beside the obvious "my gods, what an idiot" is that there were a LOT of protesters there! That wasn't a small group of protesters, their line just kept going and going. Idiot's rolling coal stunt just added more attention to the fact Tesla is being protested

I have dreaded this administration's actions since the results started showing he would win on election night, but I never once imagined that only 60 days in, the UK, Canada and Germany would be issuing travel advisories to its citizens traveling to the US.
