Wondering though if the swastika and the noose were a smokescreen to get the Confederate flag through. All the pieces I’m seeing don’t say that was placed back on the unacceptable list.

I wouldn’t have gotten here on my own. Really important way to look at this and I agreed that Westermann’s book very much supports this view. The act of violence buys his way into an ideological corner we don’t fully grasp, is how you might put it?
