Yeah. He gave bass lessons and I am sure that's where his discipline came from. Right after I got my cast off, I sat down at the piano and just played slow scales

My former bass player is world class. He was Sturgill's bassist and was almost hired by Trey before he picked up Tony. He would play whole note scales every day then pick up the tempo. I learned a lot about music discipline from him
