Apropos the Faust story being in my artistic van for nearly half a century, I had to dispose of my Ecuadorean linen basket which came into my life at the same time. I don’t think the two were connected. Gloria to the women’s co-op weavers for the long-lasting warp and weft.

I know Sirius (in Canis Major) is a short distance away from Trappist 1e (in Aquarius), but the revelations from the JWST about the potential for the later to be habitable surely mean we need to take Stockhausen’s claim to be from the former more seriously. Don’t we?

An absolute concert-diary failure by three of London’s venues this coming Thursday: a clash of four contemporary classical music concerts the same evening (as well as an ENO first night). Relief to see ticket sales moderately good, but that’s no way to build an audience for new music.

Discounting buildings and art, are there any centuries-old human-made objects (not concepts) besides musical instruments and books still in regular use? Some furniture and jewellery perhaps, though rarely that old.

One thing hasn’t changed from other social media sites: some people are as generous here with their following me as they were elsewhere, other people who I followed for years have never followed me in return on any site.
