It's an idealistic grammar that teaches for example that "my mother" and
"That cockroach" are simple subjects ( cause they are singular)🙃
No mother is a simple subject.. No human being is.

In Argentina, " learning" grammar is an incredible mess to our children and teen agers.
I do think that the way they explain verbs, pronouns, tha task to "separates the subject from the predicate" has no sense for them...

It's a very weird time, when knowing and understanding the truth feels like operating at a disadvantage in the world.
