A praying mantis [Mantis religiosa] gracefully sitting on a tiny twig. Most of the twig is out of focus, the mantid is in focus and looking in direction of the camera. The background is relatively bright and the twig and mantid are embedded in abstracted silhouettes of the vegetation in the habitat, like Carthusian carnations or different grasses.
