Times are hard and writing and teaching are sources of joy. Last week, a friend posted a quote from the paper Jay and I wrote in 2017 about the Black Outdoors working group series at Duke. It was nice to return to it and to read. Appreciation post for co-authorship and co-editorship w/ Prof Carter

Spring ephemerals just starting to emerge here in central NC, in this overwhelmingly dreary political moment: round-lobed hepatica + trout lily. Too early for TL blooms, maybe next week. Always good to come into the presence of the endless forms of life still around us.
