You mean Ann Richards. Kay was a senator who lost her governors race in the primary to Rick Perry. And although she was our first female senator, I wouldn’t say she was great.

This is exactly right. We need to get people excited!
I’m literally looking at ballotpedia numbers right now and we’re largely a nonvoting state. People have no idea who their local reps are or what happens at state level until another embarrassing headline pops up.

Exactly. There’s been a group in my very red town protesting just about every week. Today 500 people showed up! Just knowing you’re not alone is HUGE.
