The mirrors are roughly 180 cm across, but what's really important for the science is the collecting area and the sharpness of the images -- both of which are huge leaps forward.

One of my favorite images from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory. The Tycho supernova remnant looks soft and fluffy. The colors map to the X-ray energies which tell us about the elements in this exploded star and their motions.
