The other person (Dawson something) replied here, and I replied that I'd give them 24 hours. Well. I redecided and have chosen I would not. So thats what the three deleted posts were.
Anyways, protect your peace people ✌️

Lead to all of this being avoided. That is undeniable, and thankfully a teaching moment for him in the future regarding taking roles, but for the VAs that harassed him, that was not a lack of hindsight and merely a lack of consideration and compassion. That can not be denied.

And once more to add on: could he have googled John before making the announcement? Yeah. He could've. But once again that's assuming he's aware of the strike. Or somehow psychic (in which case I'd call him a very lousy psychic.) Jaceb is human, there are many steps that were missed that could've

New hire about the role out of concern that the new hire might reconsider and leave the role. Unless you think Jaceb would be scummy enough to still take the role even if he knew John was striking. I choose not to assume something like that without proof, personally, but if you do, to each their own
April 28, 2025 at 5:54 AM
Arguably I think he was aiming to just be considerate. Was it in poor taste in light of the true circumstances, yeah it was, but if he was completely unaware of the strike, which he said he was, he wouldn't know why John was no longer the VA. I highly doubt HYV would start gossiping with the

Do you, or do you not, agree with that? Or do you have some other sort of point to make?
April 28, 2025 at 5:41 AM
And having been a month ago, it's too late to take the role uncredited since the damage has already been done. There is no reason at all for any of this to have happened: if everyone was mature, responsible, and communicative, none of this would've happened, and literally everything would be fine.
April 28, 2025 at 5:41 AM
And adding to this, you could also argue he should take the role uncredited. Yes, he could've, but that's assuming he knew there was a strike going on. Which, he stated he didn't. (And I'm not going to question that, bc this by now has been a month since then, and questioning it gets us nowhere.)

"But he should quit." You'd likely say.
No, he shouldn't, because he knows his circumstances. He knows his current needs. Only he can decide on that, and forcing him to do it or expecting him to do it is to act like his circumstances, whatever they are, don't matter and he shouldn't care about them
April 28, 2025 at 5:33 AM
Have the maturity to handle it without basically shitting on your new coworker. Because he is, for all extent and purposes, a new coworker. And that fact is out of everyone's hands BUT HYV's and Jaceb, who is under no obligation to quit because like I stated, he likely has a reason to take the job.
April 28, 2025 at 5:33 AM
That does mean they are at the very least held to a higher responsibility for how they act. Sure, fans are not their responsibility because human will is a factor in all parts of life, but when at the very least operating in a public light, on a matter involving your JOB, you should at the least
April 28, 2025 at 5:33 AM
Then them as public figures on a public platform with media training and a public fanbase should have more decorum and awareness on how to behave professionally. Most of these VAs have been VAs for a long time, and understand what it means to be in the public eye.
April 28, 2025 at 5:33 AM
Additionally, on top of me not agreeing, if I can't as a private person in my private job tell my fellow coworker I dislike them and think they're doing a bad job/ 👎👎👎/"bad move, this was NOT a passing of the torch" without getting my ass pulled into HR for the potential "hostile workplace"
April 28, 2025 at 5:33 AM
And trust me, engaging with a person one on one, if any doubt of whether he's being "sincere" or not on not knowing is there, will easily help a person open up about said sincerity or lack thereof. Not invoking a mob and making a shocked pikachu face at it backfiring because someone was more mature.
April 28, 2025 at 5:14 AM
Being a scab does not mean you immediately jump to harassment. Sure, hate him all you want immediately, but try to have some civility at the very least and act like an adult and communicate, or stay silent. Nathan acted more mature than literally all the people I listed and then some.
April 28, 2025 at 5:14 AM
When it's a coworker, no. I don't. Hence why I said privately. Especially if you haven't at the very least discussed with them privately first. (And mind you, this is not including like,,, sex offenders or murderers or whatnot.) Frankly in my mind, rioting over someone taking over a job even if
April 28, 2025 at 5:14 AM
If anything, they likely put "Seeking Voice Actor for Male Character." And then a description of the character and type of voice they're looking for... and didn't name Kinich at all.
So why should Jaceb be blamed for this and mistreated by his new coworkers? When they should be mad at HYV, not him.
April 28, 2025 at 4:59 AM
For all we know, HYV posted a listing for wanting a voice actor in various regions, and he signed up for it and auditioned, and was then given the role. And that role just so happened to be replacing John. I highly doubt HYV will put "NEED TO REPLACE VA IN [GENSHIN IMPACT]" As the job title.
April 28, 2025 at 4:59 AM
There was a strike going on, why would he? Why would he google another voice actor? Hell, I don't even know (and this is me being far too charitable to him) if he even knew John was the VA until after given the role and done the lines.
April 28, 2025 at 4:59 AM
Yeah, and that sucks. I feel bad for John obviously, no one likes to be replaced, but that is not his fault. That blame lies solely on HYV and sure, you could argue he should've looked up if John was striking or not. Yeah, he should've, but he didn't, and that's just being human. If he didn't know
April 28, 2025 at 4:59 AM
This started when they threw the first stone, instead of doing what Nathan had done and engaged with Jaceb privately. But they incited a mob, poking at the (known) rabid community of Genshin fans, and are now having to quell the fires that should've never been stoked in the first place.
April 28, 2025 at 4:49 AM
Frustration is not. And that, mind you, is my opinion on both sides. I don't agree with people who disagree with Corina, Amaris (Aneris? Apologies), Kayli, the VA for Sucrose, and sending them death threats, but I don’t approve of it towards Jaceb either, and it's easy to say that literally ALL of
April 28, 2025 at 4:49 AM
You and many others are more than welcome to privately and personally shit talk amongst yourselves about people you hate or dislike. That's normal. To bring it onto social media, inciting a horrible wave of hate and malice towards a newcomer instead of staying silent or privately venting your
April 28, 2025 at 4:49 AM
And that's fine and dandy. However, that's not acceptable when you're a professional in the same work place and you're publically harassing a new coworker. Any number of things said towards him, and others involved, would be grounds alone for them to be fired in any other job.
