I have worked in that setting for many years and although I could nitpick certain things, I understood the artistic point of the choices she made and think it’s a valuable insight into aging and senior healthcare.

I didn’t see it there, but have you seen FAMILIAR TOUCH by Sarah Friedland? I think it’s very good and hope it gets better known.

Lovett can be seen to the right of Nanci Griffith dancing with a girl on the cover of her album Last Of The True Believers in 1986.

When I worked at a hospital I never dressed up for Halloween, I felt it was inappropriate to do so around sick and injured and anxious and stressed people. I suppose it is ok for people in admin areas, but not patient care areas.

Those look great. I started out with a cheap tenor because I thought I would like that size best, but I find the concert more comfortable to hold, and I have come to love playing the soprano even more.

He also released 3 or 4 heavy metal albums late in life.

Not really. Trump is trying to build a fascist state, but he’s not yet done it.

No, that’s not what he said. He has said that Trump and his minions have fascist ideology, but that the government itself is not yet a fascist government. We do not currently live in a fascist state.

And you even gifted it, so they couldn’t even complain about a paywall. If they were smart, they’d just subscribe like I do.

I love Lola, Barbara Sukowa’s version of Capri Fischer is such a favorite that I bought the soundtrack to the film just for that. My favorite RWF is Maria Braun, but I have had a long time crush on Hanna Schygulla, so that’s no surprise. My wife always teased me about that. 😀

It’s quite bizarre, but if you like Fassbinder it’s worth a watch, but Fassbinder is certainly an acquired taste. My late wife HATED his films. I am a long time fan.

Here’s how I avoid that problem. I am a long time collector of Criterion Collection editions of movies that I really like.

As a native of Alabama, there was a time that I would have taken issue with your assertion that education played a role, but since relocating to your home state, and watching the south fall for Trumpism, I can only say that I was wrong about the ability of my fellow southerners to think critically.

I subscribe to a few magazines, and The Atlantic is the best of them. (It’s also my only US subscription, even though I live in the US.

Would love to know why they think Metropolis is unwatchable today.

Well, they have done many crossovers in the comics. As I recall the first was in the mid seventies between Superman and Spider-Man.

When I see a film, I want a good story. You can spend a billion dollars on SFX and star salaries, and it won’t mean anything if the story is bad. I like many superhero films, but here is not a superhero film in existence that I would rather watch than a great movie like, say, Casablanca.
