Book a month continues. April was Holly by @stephenking.bsky.social. Finally see what King has always seen in Holly Gibney - gutsy, smart, and chain-smoking in the best detective tradition. Also some of King's most frightening antagonists to date. Goes without saying but pick this one up.

Aiming to read at least one book a month this year. March was Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. This novel is a real tour de force. Demon is a singular creation, a fascinating protagonist and narrator. The praise this book has received is well-deserved.

Still trying to read a book a month this year. February was This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. A gorgeous love story with some incredible imagery. Some of the most creative depictions of far-future technology I've read in fiction. Definitely check this one out.

January was Shelby Van Pelt's Remarkably Bright Creatures. This was a beautiful little novel about loss and connection. Marcellus the aging Giant Pacific Octopus was a standout character for me, but everyone in this novel felt remarkably alive.
