Liz Danforth's work is present in so much stuff I love. several iconic M:TG illustrations including Zur's Weirding and one of the Hymns to Tourach, plus art for other ccgs and game systems... and I recently found out she contributed scenarios to Wasteland, one of my favourite games for DOS

I actually can't play any game which activates the graphics card at all or the laptop melts down
so many recent crawlers and puzzles I wanna play but they often use unity or what have you. cannot afford to replace the fan

i love when games are laid out from a side-on platformer viewpoint but they're actually top-down four/eight directional movement games, messed-up perspective is really great
like ultima IV where you can see the tops of tables but characters are drawn in portrait, it's good

i love when games are laid out from a side-on platformer viewpoint but they're actually top-down four/eight directional movement games, messed-up perspective is really great

making the snow fall in terra nil is so lovely :3 bonus: you can watch yr resources fill up from all the transformation it performs, and then restart the level cos you made the entire landscape unworkable \o/

playtesting my card game with stickers stuck to Mirrodin era basic mountains, it rules. the rules set is too cool and you don't need anywhere near sixty cards to play it. the game is good and shares basically nothing with M:TG beyond things like mill, discard piles, resource points etc

loving Terra Nil! reading reviews which describe its various stages being in conflict but have been viewing the process as "promote biodiversity, then do as little damage as possible as you leave", so its final layer becomes a deliberate puzzle, satisfying when it works out as you'd hoped

i'm sure there's already people playing casual magic and deliberately omitting the cards from outside properties but I think fandom is going to sustain UB for a long time - people willing to travel to major cons and drop serious money on these cards are just more visible than local playgroups
