What’s up with Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French just using the word “Bacon” when they all have a word for bacon (tocino, tocinho, pancetta and lard, respectively)? It’s not like the word “computer” where the concept didn’t exist when your language was made up.

I have no idea how to fix this. To me, this makes as much sense as someone saying, “I was told I needed a screwdriver, so I got a Phillips and it didn’t work!” When you need a flathead. Idk how to show these people that’s now how this works, nor do I think they have any interest in understanding
