This SAVE act is intended to burden all Americans. This is bad for Mainers and bad for women. We have come too far to go back. My wife, my daughters, and all women deserve better. Americans deserve better.

This is misrepresentation of Lewis’ words. Lewis was for expanding voting rights. The SAVE Act inhibits women’s right to vote and imposes a poll tax on American women who took their husbands’ last names. Many cannot afford to pay the fees for additional identification required to vote.
