Made this little sheet to add to my website for people who are commissioning characters. Sometimes they don't know what to give me so I thought this guide might help.

Feel free to use!
A graphic describing how to provide references for an artist to draw an OC. It has several steps, including Step 1: gathering pictures for important parts such as skin color, hair color, eye color, clothing style, tattoos and scars. Step 2: Bullet list other important features such as build (tall, short, fat, skinny), facial details (such as dimples), other stand out body features like disabilities, and any additional objects. Step 3: Bullet points of personality NOT paragraph backgrounds. Step 4: Poses, even if they are just a crude stick figure drawing. Part 2 of the diagram explaining how to gather good references for your character which is mainly about inspirations. It has a picture on it of a female character leaping with fiery armor and a long braid and explains that requesting a character exactly as the reference is bad form, but taking small inspirations from other images is ok! At the bottom of the page is an example of a mood board containing multiple images that are general aesthetics for the character.
