I think phrases that equate disability with a negative trait are worse than phrases that are neutral and include ability words. E.g. "Turn a blind eye" is a phrase to avoid, but "I hope to see you soon" is not.
I'm sighted but I do know blind people who use the verb "see" as in "meet up with".
