I don’t think anyone genuinely interested in the discovery of truth through reason could watch any of Kirk’s “debates” and believe that he was an open-minded participant willing to challenge his own beliefs.

Broadly, Rove is right, but notice how he ignores the obvious evidence of Kirk’s attempts to silence his critics (the snitch-lists for professors) or his claim that Kirk was driven by reason and logic when his main tactic was to ambush naive college students with debater’s tricks for viral clips.

Not your bad. Anyone remotely familiar with your work, or possessing common sense, would have refrained from the cheap one-upmanship of “correcting” your post. This lack of interpretive charity, especially among people who are ostensibly politically aligned, is all too common on social media, alas.
