Spain are one of the shining lights, very vocal against the genocide in Gaza and taking actions such as blocking arms coming into their ports. Meanwhile the US, Germany and many others support it. I think it's the latter ones are going (gone) fascist

Whatever about Jewish friends, the Zionist ones would be supporting him because he has committed to accelerating the genocide currently ongoing until they have fully taken over Gaza. I assume West Bank will be next

Fair point 😅

Yes, this brand new "throwing heart out" gesture, which happened to be introduced for the first time (and repeated) during one of the most high profile political moments of recent times ... yes ... that's it

Agreed it's not good for BTC and its perception in short term. In the long term I think BTC has shown its resilience. It has only grown in the face of many attempted bans by countries around world, many high profile crypto scams, unfriendly US governments/world banks/ 1%'ers who want to control it

I guess what I find strangest is that the left is usually the empathic side, and here they really angrily defend the current system of elitist corruption that helps widen the poverty gap across the world, the JP morgans etc. The people behind 2008. I find that all really difficult to comprehend tbh

How much fairer it can be when it's not governed by world banks, fed, etc. Also in terms of the electricity, think of all the electricity used by the middle men in the current payment rails, by the fractional banking guys whose only job is to make themselves money using yours.

However, anyone who thinks BTC is just a ponzi like tulip mania ... I would argue they don't fully grasp what has happened the USD since it was taken off the gold reserve, the implications of the national debt, how it can help the billions of "unbanked" people in poorer countries.

As someone who considers themselves on the left, I'm always a bit surprised just how anti-crypto the left is. Or more specifically how anti-BTC. Because yes, 99.9% of the other "crypto" coins are garbage, and yes there are a lot of unbearable "bros".

I'm all for BlueSky and what it represents but honestly I think TV is more powerful for the moment. Majority of the population are still very impressionable. But no reason can't do both
January 17, 2025 at 4:42 PM
And why do both US parties currently support the funding of a genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza?
January 16, 2025 at 12:06 AM
I dont refer here to the top % who gain from the current system and have a vested interest. Many people I see defending it could themselves be the ones lumbered with lifelong debts if they have any issues claiming against their insurance
January 12, 2025 at 10:02 PM
Mark, why do so many ordinary US citizens defend the current healthcare system? And take any criticism of it as a criticism of the US itself? As an outsider, I find this difficult to understand. You can be a proud citizen of your country and what it stands for AND want fairer access to healthcare

I'm well aware 😪 In no way pro-Trump. Not everything should be an us vs them tho. Biden wins for least genocide enabling ... yay! Just saying funding blatant war crimes, murder of journalists, sieges, aid blocking, attacks on UN peacekeepers etc is a terrible indictment. Same for Europe's leaders
January 12, 2025 at 4:15 PM
Biden is funding a genocide currently though, so I wouldn't put him up on a pedestal. Better than the incoming disaster but definitely a massive stain on his presidency

Ya it has definitely been hijacked

Although one could argue that any voices behind a good cause are beneficial, I think it actually dilutes the message if hypocrisy or apathy is evident. But I do hate that conservatives tend to throw "virtue signalling" at anyone standing up for a good cause if it happens to be liberal
January 10, 2025 at 1:08 PM
I think there's a real issue with virtue signalling when the person is doing it simply to be seen advocating for something, to fit in with a tribe, but then their actions (or lack of) demonstrate that they really don't care about said issue as much as they are letting on

Have you covered Musk at any length in a podcast? Strange trajectory of a life
January 9, 2025 at 6:47 AM
Have you read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman"? It outlines how the US went about creating a global empire. Given some of your recent geopolitical content on Balfour declaration etc, I think you'd like it
