watched the indie direct today and wanted to shout out Well Dweller - it's made by the same folks who did Crypt Custodian (an INCREDIBLE metroidvania that i never see anybody talk about). really excited for this next year.

it ends with us is a drama thats a cool and subversive idea!! it doesnt fully stick the landing and i wish it lulled the audience a little longer so that the payoffs felt better but its still p good!! also apparently some shit happened behind the scenes if set dramas ur thing idk

finally watched the substance! i think body horror thats just "what if u were fucked up and ugly" tends to result in siding with what's it's trying to critique more so than actually critiquing and this isnt innocent. i appreciate how blunt it is (plus theres some real cool shots) but i wanted more

The Monk and The Gun fucking rules. It takes place around the first mock elections in Bhutan in 2008, but its so much more. its hilarious, its thoughtful, its probably 10 times better on a rewatch, and its only 2 hours for you adhd freaks. great movie

carry-on is a pretty good thriller thats on netflix rn. its like textbook copaganda but its a good ride. also airport settings let you do so much cool stuff - i liked it a lot for what it is.
