Shader coding has ruined me.

Oh my god what a cool find!

That is not to say I think cis allies have it harder or that them feeling like we owe them a life debt is justified.

I just know that it can be very socially costly to be a trans ally.

I think the goal must be to drive away our friends and family from us. To isolate us.

I am openly trans with a few dear friends who have stood up for me, and I have seen them punished for it possibly more severely than the discrimination I face for being trans in the first place.

It’s as if transphobes hate cis allies maybe more than they even hate us.
I don’t understand it.

So very sorry! 0Player was made by caveadventure / Katelyn Delta. 😊 I am unaffiliated. But it is very good.

You can't hold me to account. You have no power over me, and your words and accusations are meaningless.

The other women I know support me.
The lesbians and gays I know support me.
The one lesbian I knew in the last few years that went anti-trans was the one who found herself held to account.

My unsolicited advice to you is to not try to change their minds. They justify their disgust of us, their disgust doesn't come from logic or reason.
You can't reason them out of something they didn't reason themselves into.

But don't let them explain themselves.
Simply put their cruelty on display.

You're right, but I think what people are saying when they excuse it for being the 80s, is that they see toxically masculine men as a genre staple.
It's a feature to them, not a bug.

Congratulations. Well deserved.
It's a tremendously solid game, with great depth and plenty of surprises.

I think it depends on what you’re trying to use a genre for.

It’s a communication tool. But different people use it in different ways so they have slightly different expectations and needs.

I think that what is the point of a genre.
I like grid based state based games about pathfinding. I’m just as likely to appreciate a DROD as I am a slidekoban, sokoban, or even some stepping games.

Micro-label genres aren’t as practically useful for trying to find new games, or discuss known games.
November 8, 2025 at 12:47 AM
Oh yes I agree.
I think pushing or pulling is an essential aspect of soko-ness.

I think there are some similar parts of the brain used but it’s too different to be the same genre.
November 8, 2025 at 12:33 AM
I think at least for me the essential element is manipulation of a 2nd party while controlling an agent. If you push or pull another object, while locked within a grid and taking turns, that’s Sokoban.

The focus should be on a version of the Piano Movers Problem. Navigating a space with objects.
November 8, 2025 at 12:30 AM
OK, I can definitely understand that perspective.
I almost see those games as Sokoban+. Especially the ones where you push the rolling block. Since you have all of the same problems with corners that a Sokoban has but also new problems of orientation and offsets. I suppose not dissimilar to S.S.R.
